JOB TITLE: Expo Supervisor
DEPARTMENT: Exposition Center
PAY RANGE: Grade 13, starting at $15.08/hr
ACCOUNTABLE TO: Superintendent
PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF POSITION: Under general direction is responsible for daily work of the grounds maintenance and equipment operator staff of the Exposition Center. Work varies considerably requiring individual judgment within well established polices and guidelines.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Physical demands include bending, stooping, climbing, twisting, reaching, walking on rough or uneven terrain, kneeling, and pulling or lifting up to 80#s (greater with assistance).
Work is performed in uncontrollable working conditions of inclement weather, during all seasons, of heat, cold, dampness, offensive odors, dust, dirt, and hazardous chemicals;
Must possess a valid Oklahoma Drivers License;
MAJOR AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY AND PERFORMANCE:
Is responsible for the daily grounds operations of the facility;
Directs workers in the servicing and clean-up of activities and events;
Schedules and staffs workers on a daily or weekly basis within the work unit;
Prepares for a variety of events from RV rallies, livestock shows, rodeos, wedding receptions, and horse sales;
Performs others duties as assigned;
Prepares regular reports of activities and submits such reports to the appropriate authorities;
Is responsible for facilities and equipment of considerable value requiring care;
Contacts are varied with employees, contractors, exhibitors, community organizations, and the public in which ability to perform duties is directly affected through communications and rapport established;
Performs work in an uncontrolled environment that requires the use of proper safety equipment and procedures to prevent injury.
SUPERVISION RESPONSIBILITY FOR WORK OF OTHERS: Supervises grounds maintenance and maintenance II staff.
EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Graduation from high school or its equivalent; PLUS
Two years experience preferably in facilities maintenance ;
Must possess a valid Oklahoma Class B CDL and maintain a status of insurability.
EXAMPLES OF EXPERIENCE CRITERA AND PERFORMANCE;
Must be able to work flexible hours, weekends, holidays, and nights during events as scheduled;
Maintains good public relations with the exhibitors, community organizations, and participants;
Assesses the needs for daily, weekly, and monthly grounds maintenance and directs a program of addressing those needs;
Attends meetings with workers and gives and received information helpful in the work unit or the work operation;
Performs other duties as may be assigned.
